High Plains Web Design is now in the process of updating their Web Pages. Yes, more than about time. For the most part, I have found that Web Pages have been far from worth reading. That is to say, until the CRT's were not just on their way out, but downright hard to find, reading the written words upon Web Pages were worthy of not much more than a headache. Copy, paste and print were the buzzwords of the day. Now since we have all progressed in a kinder gentler look and feel with LCD screens and more, it has become worthwhile to have something to say to the casual browser, or to the one looking for a Web Developer. At the very least, information sharing.

- did you know that a CSS (cascading style sheet) allows you to redo the objects you see on a Web Page like buttons and paragaphs with attributes of your own choosing? Then allowing you to use those "new objects" as a web page standard.

These days, it is not just a Zen-like look of a web page we are looking for. We are looking for easy access to that Web Page. We are looking for databases that collect information from that Web Page. We are looking for more than email. We are looking for email Mailing systems that allow us Newsletters to reach out to our customer base. We are looking to update those Web Page, easily and securely. We are asking from a Web Site much more than we have ever asked. We are back to JavaScript, now as AJAX. Well, it's always been here, but now it's being used to make web pages jump out at the user. We want more than animation. We want fluid beauty.

- did you know that the font you pick for your web page is dependant upon the browser being capable of reading that font? In most cases if the font is not recognized, then it uses a default. CSS helps you to setup your own default fonts.

Take all these things and much more and throw them together with a very usable and accessible CMS (content management system), along with your very own "youtube" and we are ready for the world. And after all, isn't it really the World Wide Web. We can not only have something to say, but say it in the most glorious of ways. Flash is in. What a world to live in. There is much more than hope on the horizon, there is the acceptance of the technological world we live in. We embrace it all and have really become "user friendly".

OK, so where do we go from here?

Good question. A short time ago, I took a break from some programming to turn on CNN. I think a lot of people are these days. I saw GOOGLE talking about the economic stimulus plan. They were really excited about it. But most of all, I saw them talking about "transparency". Yes folks. TRANSPARENCY. What a great word. Corporations, Companies and People becoming accountable. People not giving "double talk", but transparent statements. Statements and actions of crystal clarity. Finally, I thought to myself, people that are accountable for their actions through transparency. Now we can shop for a product or service and know who and what is behind that.

OK, so I'm exited about it.

Yes I am. Because like all of us, especially though some of the blemishes we all have, I have tried to lead a life of transparency. Living the age old WYSIWYG. It may not be everyones "cup of tea", but it can be reassuring to others.

OK, so now what?

Well, I'm here to let you know of High Plains Web Designs commitment to satisfying the customer. If you should choose to hire our company, you will get a company of integrity. One that will gladly and might I say, happily work beside you to give you a Web Site that you are happy with. Along the way, I hope to help you understand the Web. Mostly, what your options are with the Web. Along the way, I will try to help you understand "The Process". How does the Web work? Why choose certain fonts over others. What is, and why use a CSS (cascading style sheet). If you should choose to run a Web Store, what will this cost you and what are your options? What are the security concerns running an ecommerce Web Store. Compatability. That's a big one for another day. But suffice it to say that there are compatabilty issues with these changes, yet we can cope. We can set it up to be cross-platform compatable.

OK, so where now?

If you happen upon this page by accident. Well, enjoy anything you may find here. I will be trying to put up useful information from time to time that may help you in your search for what you might be looking for. At the very least maybe give you a bit of a chuckle. If you are an internet robot, well, 1100011100, keep to the first paragraph and kindly move on.

The information below should help you with your decision to hire a Web Developer. If not High Plains Web Design, then a Design and Developer of your choosing. And might I thank you for your time for reading this information

High Plains Web Design information

Web technology can be quite intimidating to the casual web user. Even those individuals with a solid foundation of the web and its intricate workings can be stuck in an avenue of continuously changing programming etiquette. It is with this very thought in mind that gave birth to High Plains Web Design. Our company chose to cater to those individuals and organizations that would like a better hands on experience and understanding of web page technology. Web Sites can not only enhance your image, but place your organization within the wide internet viewing public reaching out to previously untapped areas.

Before you decide, take some time to think about what you want, don't rush into your web site. Web sites make any organization much more accessible. How do you want your site to be portrayed. What is it you want to let the public know about who you are and what you represent? What are your markets. Should your site be strictly informational or do you need a site involved in e-business with buying and selling? Will you need an inventory or other database that houses information to be e-mailed to your valued customers.

A Little About Us

High Plains Web Design was formed by Marshall Purvis in 2004 as a hands on Web Based Company.

"My field of study and employment in my life has come directly from the MH/ MR field. During that time, I have been very fortunate to have some great mentors, especially those within my experience working in the MH/ MR field. This unique field has given me the compassion to work with individuals on all skill levels. It has really given me deep respect for tolerance of all individuals. The experience has shaped me into a real people person."

"Educationally I have two degrees granted from the University of Albuquerque and TVI of Albuquerque, one in Business and one in Programming. Both Colleges are located in New Mexico. I have extensive skills in PHP, CSS, ASP, HTML, MySql, phpMyadmin, Flash, Fireworks, Shopping Cart and Web Design. Although I have very solid programming skills, I create web sites based on the unique and artistic. I believe that this in and of itself is an important factor in having increased exposure and repetitive hits. In addition to this, all web sites are reviewed and revised as the newest technology warrants."

"Closer to home, I am married with 3 children, 3 dogs, a horse, various ducks and chickens and countless cats. We grow organic vegetables for market in Albuquerque and the surrounding communities as Purvis Family Farm. No easy task in an arid high plains environment. This endevour has taught me the respect for hard work. This is exactly what I will give you and/or your organization if you choose to go with High Plains Web Design. Honesty and Hard work will never be underrated."
